Brian Grimmer

Brian Grimmer – Managing Director

As a proven developer of business ventures with a demonstrated aptitude for both motivation and innovation, teamed with well-developed inter-personal and communication skills, Brian has led Powertech since 2002.

Brian joined Powertech after successfully establishing and running Onexus Pty Ltd as Chief Executive. The Onexus Joint Venture between Seven Network’s Internet arm i7 Limited and PSM Systems was developed as a universal Human Resource extranet application spanning all of commerce via three main databases: Technical Disciplines, Business Management and Professional Services.

Previously Brian co-founded PSM Systems to service engineering consultancies with recruitment, training and logistical support systems and founded and operated Pro Source Pty Ltd, a vertical integration association with Powertech Pty Ltd with the express purpose of out-sourcing project engineers / technicians and associated hardware primarily in the areas of testing and commissioning.


Troy Smith

Troy Smith – Projects Director

Troy Smith came to Powertech in 2006 and has since headed up three of our largest projects to date, Roc Oil Cliff Head, Ravensthorpe Nickel and Woodside's LNG Phase V. Troy’s primary role is to oversee the project management of the business and assist in business development. As a Senior Manager of Powertech Troy is heavily involved in the overall strategic development of the company ensuring our values are understood and implemented.

Troy comes to Powertech with a wealth of business and project experience from 7 years of owning and operating a number of businesses including recruitment consultancies.


Jonathan Stow

Jonathan Stow – Business Director

Jonathan Stow came to Powertech with a wealth of experience at the highest levels. Having cut his teeth in protection and commissioning with what was then the world’s fourth largest electricity utility, Eskom, Jonathan became WA Sales Engineer for GEC Alsthom’s Protection and Control Division in 1994 which then became ALSTOM and finally AREVA.

For the last three years he served as State Manager for all of AREVA’s business units in WA and the Northern Territory. He decided to move to Powertech because he wanted to play a meaningful role in a vigorous growing company with values that he could ascribe to.


Greg Thompson

Greg Thompson – Systems Director

Starting his career and completing his MBA whilst in the Royal Australian Navy Greg Thompson moved on to act as a lead consultant in a number of tier one consultancies. Specialising in systems program implementation and finally joining Powertech in 2007 Greg was initially employed as a Project Manager at the Ravensthorpe Nickel Project. Greg has since found a home in Powertech’s core structure heading up the Business Systems Department.

The Business Systems Department is responsible for the development, commercialisation and deployment of Powertech’s Completions Connect application, the optimisation of our business processes and the implementation of our support business applications. This includes the deployment of our new enterprise planning system.


Kaine Weighell

Kaine Weighell – Services Director

Joining Powertech in 2003 as an Electrical Technician Kaine gained experience and proved himself as he moved through the ranks to lead the WA Services department in 2007.

Whilst working with Powertech Kaine has filled many roles from Senior Technician to Commissioning Manager & Project Manager. Kaine’s ability to lead and communicate effectively with clients and vendors has been recognised by Powertech. This has lead to Kaine heading up the WA Services team in concurrence with projects.


Paul Carmignani

Paul Carmignani – Finance Director

The most recent addition to the Powertech financial team is Paul Carmignani who comes in as the Financial Controller from 2008. Paul has quickly established himself in the company management team as well as providing leadership in establishing the new Shared Services Department.

Paul’s experience includes 8 years in an accounting function as well as management and administration responsibilities.


Don Gordon

Don Gordon – Quality & HSE Director

Don Gordon is a highly competent General Manager with a proven ability to master challenging environments. Don brings this expertise to the Quality and HSE department which he formally established since joining Powertech in 2005.

Previous accomplishments include being awarded a Master of Engineering degree for a “significant contribution to knowledge” by the University of Melbourne, originating the now globally-accepted key elements of management in one field of engineering, significantly reduced operating costs on many world-class mine sites and creating a robust and user-friendly Quality Management System to ISO 9001:2000 in three months.


Russell Growden

Russell Growden – QLD Director

Joining Powertech in 2001 as an Electrical Technician Russell gained experience and proved himself as he moved through the ranks to establish and run the QLD branch in 2007.

Whilst working in the roles of Electrical Technician, Senior Technician and Technical Project Manager, Russell was recognised by Powertech and its clients for his technical expertise. This along with Russell’s ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors and co-workers has created a reputation of distinction within Powertech and our client base.
